The LOQED Touch Smart Lock 2s is one of the rare products in its category that ticks almost all the boxes for a serious Home Assistant setup. The integration is official, native in the core since version 2023.7, and most importantly it works in real-time push via the local bridge: no polling, no visible latency, the state is sent instantly. For those automating scenes on lock or unlock, this is exactly what you expect. Combined with a door sensor or Shelly BLU Button, you can build truly clean routines, like lights turning off when the door closes or notifications when the kids come home.

On the hardware side, it's rock solid. The SKG 3-star, EN 1303 and EN 15684 certified cylinder is supplied in the box, which makes all the difference compared to a Nuki where you need to bring your own cylinder. The absence of a keyhole on the outside eliminates classic lock-picking techniques outright, and protection against hardened steel drills does the rest. The clever detail is the 9V emergency connector: if the 8 AA batteries are dead, you stick a 9V battery on the two external contacts and the lock is back in business. No competitor offers this as cleanly. The revised motor on the 2s version that locks and unlocks in 2 seconds is also a real-world improvement, you can feel the difference compared to the earlier generation.

Now the limitations, because at 249 € you have to be honest. The first sore point: no Matter, no Thread, no Zigbee. You're stuck with Wi-Fi via the bridge and Bluetooth, whereas in 2026 you could have expected better from a product freshly integrated into the Shelly ecosystem. Second friction point: installation takes a good 20 minutes, whereas a Nuki clips on in 5.

In the end, I give the LOQED Touch Smart Lock 2s a 4.5/5. It's probably the best smart lock on the market to integrate into Home Assistant today, especially if you're already in the Shelly ecosystem. The direct competitor is the Nuki Smart Lock 4.0, cheaper and easier to install, but without the included certified cylinder and without the 9V backup system. If physical security and clean HA integration come before price, LOQED has very few rivals. If you just want to motorize your existing lock for not too much money, Nuki remains more relevant.
